Grandpa Dwight's Funeral

We received some late night news that
Shane's dad Dwight had passed away,
and instantly we were in a flurry of
activity to head south for the funeral.

It was a wonderful Christmas Blessing,
as he had been in hospice for
a number of years battling MS.

Shane was very much shook up and on the
receiving end of much of the family drama,
which as funerals go was pretty tame.

We were so grateful for the time we got
to share with all our extended family.

There was a sports night organized
the night before.

Volley ball, basket ball, and dodge ball.

The graveside service was before the funeral.
It was Freezing and Windy!

Thanks Auntie Deonie for keeping
my kids on the ground!

Seriously so cold!

Thanks Uncle Scott for photo bombing!

These girls just adore their Auntie!

After the funeral there was a get together at
our wonderful cousin Lindseys house!

Which included another Impromptu Nativity.

Then it was off to Aunt Susans house
for dancing and more fun.
At least for the big kids!

That night we read extra stories together.
I love staying at Lindsay's for lots of reasons.

One of them is there's always gads of books
to share with my kids at bedtime.

Ms. E was a little under the weather.
hence the cold pack and bucket.

The next day we spent with cousins at Grandma Cathys.

Seriously these kids don't have
a choice but to be friends!

Thanks Lindsey for letting us invade!

August Road Trips aka we like to party!

Ok so when we decide to visit family
we really decide to visit family.

This trip was full of such crazy times,
we introduced Ms. C to Grandpa Dwight.

After which we dumped Boston Cream Cake
all over the inside of van.
(but that's another story!)

Visited with my parents in Cardston.

Visited with friends in Magrath,
who we just adore!
(and they happen to be family)

We bumped into more friends at the Stirling Pool.
(who also happen to be family!)

We had an adventure in Waterton.
We even lost ms. E for a bit.

Grateful Grandma Cathy came!
More adults always makes things easier!

And we loved having Ms. O with us too!
She's an amazing Niece!

Grandma was desperately seeking shade.
Ms. V was her buddy for most of the day.
