Soccer Carnival

Soccer Windup Carnival

Seriously this day was COLD!
Windy, cold and slightly miserable.

Despite the weather the Community Association
put on a great carnival at the end of the soccer season
and the kids definitely enjoyed seeing all their
soccer friends one more time.

Shane Loved playing in the soccer bubbles!
The kids did great too!

Ms. A liked hanging upside down more than
actually bumping into anyone or playing the games.

There were lots of fun activities, a bike course, petting zoo,
Hot Dogs and Watermelon, a gymnastics performance,
plenty of local businesses and political booths.

What a great way to spend the morning!

Olympic Sports Day

This was super fun!

Olympic Sports Day at school.

Shot Put

Ms. A of course was off and running with friends
as this was a self guided activity and the kids went
at their own pace and chose their own activities.

Hockey

Ms. E stayed pretty close beside me and we
enjoyed a morning filled with activities.

 Steeplechase

 Olympic Art

 Gymnastics

 Rowing

I think there were some that Mr. T
enjoyed WAY more than Ms. E!

Pancake Breakfast

One of the awesome perks of Shane's summer hours
being so random is that he can come to things like this!

The End of the Year Pancake Breakfast!

Waiting Patiently (sorta) for our turn to sit in the fire engine!

Mr. T felt sooo Cool!

It was fun visiting with the firefighters and
paramedics that were there with their trucks.

Ms. A Thought it was really cool that this Fireman
had actually only completed his Fireman training
about 4 months earlier and this was his
first position in the city.

Maker Space

This Year Ms. A got invited to participate
in a program called Maker Space.

Basically its a program for
self starters and independent workers.

They get to choose their own projects and have
a dedicated space for their creative outlet.

For Ms. A this was like Heaven!
An entire hour to just work on her own
without rules (mostly) or interruption (mostly).

At the end of the year they have an open house
where parents and all the students get to
come through and ask questions.

All the different projects laid out reminded me
a bit of a science fair.
But it was fun to see what everyone was working on
and see Ms. A's project that she had been
talking about ALL YEAR!

This gigantic creation is a diorama of a camp.

Complete with Campers, tents campfires,
the river, outhouses and even a very tall gate.

She learned all kinds of things about
construction, scale, and material choice.

There were glass beads, Popsicle sticks, fabric,
tooth picks, sea shells, yarn, paper, cardboard,
straws, pom poms, plastic cups, tape, hot clue,
white glue, staples, as well as decorations and
drawings with colored pencil, markers, and pen.

Seriously This girls was in creative heaven!!
