Family Fun Day!

We had such a great time family day at the
University of Lethbridge Family Fun Day!

The theme this year was Super Hero's.

I don't usually enjoy crowds, AT ALL.
But this was great - super manageable
and the wait times were short!

Ms. A wanted to try everything
Spider man crawl, Wonder Woman Lasso,
and the Nerf gun challenge too.

Bouncy houses were a main attraction.
Taylor went through once and then
I decided they were still a little tall for him.
We went to the Cardboard building instead!

The girls came soon to join us and made a tunel train!

Last but not least they got their faces painted!

My two wonder women!!

Mr. T was pretty patient for a curious 2 year old.
At Least I thought!

We had a ton of fun and we were glad that
Grandma Cathy came to help!

Valentines Day

Ok so we were SUPER sick during valentines week.

I had a TON of super fun stuff planned and no,
we watched cartoons and tried not to make each other too frustrated.

But in between all the sickness we did end up having a little fun!

#1 conversation heart Art and Science

#2 Family Dice Game

 #3 Ice Cream Cones

Shane and I had our icecream later in root beer floats
with a movie after the kiddo's were in bed.

Earlier in the week we had made Pink Chocolate Chip Cookies.
(seriously they were so pink they tasted pink!)

And . . . . Later in the week my awesome hubby
kicked me out of the house for an hour to do whatever I wanted.
Due to the nice weather my he set up the tent in the back yard
and we cuddled out there for a bit.

(seriously I felt so bad cramping his romantic style!
I was SOOOOOOO uncomfortable and ached all over that day.)

We also made valentines that week for Grandpa Dwight and for
Grandma and Grandpa Webster and my sisters.

Now that I have it all written down we did actually do a lot,
but at least one kid was just sick all through some of this!

Next UP - Family day fun at the University!
It was Super Hero Day!

OOPS! I forgot one Quilt.

So here is the pictures of the quilt I made for baby #4.
When I posted pictures before it was not quite complete.
Now it is and I LOVE it!
Triangles are something that sometimes is
just a bit above my skill level
but by the end I felt soooo good
about how they had all turned out!

Here it is!

Shane is teasing me now that my nesting list in dwindling!

Well it should be I'm only 3 weeks away from my due date,
with all the projects I took on I actually feel ready.

Next up will be All about Valentines Day!

New Curtains Everywhere - and why its important (not JUST nesting)

So I'm not sure if I have ever mentioned how Awesome my sister is . . . .
She inspires me in ways she probably has NO IDEA about.

Earlier in the month she was downsizing some Wedding Linens.
She thought I might some but couldn't decide what I might like.

So she simply brought it all.
5 large boxes of Satin and Sheer
table cloths, chair covers, and chair sashes.

(Don't worry I didn't keep it all!)

I was Super Excited!!

(Tablecloths = A LOT of FABRIC!)

My brain was on overdrive thinking about all the
awesome things I could create!
(dresses, curtains, scarfs, etc.)

So I'll show you the awesome curtains we now have hanging in our house!

First off - THE GIRLS ROOM!!

I was really inspired by this post from

Thank You Pintrest!

Here they are all ruffly, feminine and fabulous!

Did I mention How Tablecloths = LOTS of Fabric

Each panel was 1/2 a tablecloth  and
each ruffle was 1 chair sash!
(seriously1/2 the work was done for me!)

Oh and that also means that all the sashes were hemmed already,
and each panel was hemmed on three sides already as well!
Seriously so much work was already done!

I love Re-purposing things!

Next!

Mr. T Receives a Curtain.

Again I did some research.
After looking at some Short curtain styles
I decided this was best.

Thanks to this post for my inspiration from

Again most of the work was done for me!!
Maybe I Could have MANned it up a bit but I thought
the end result was just fine

(Add a few beads I already had stashed!)

 Now on to the kitchen!!
I confess these curtains were a bit of a pain.
I persevered though!

My inspiration was this post from

It Also Helps that I worked for this woman as a seamstress!!
She is so AMAZING! She taught me all I know about ruffles!
or

Here they are and I love them!!

Last set is above the kitchen sink.

Pretty standard curtains this time, although I love that they are sheer
so I can still look out and watch the kiddo's in the back yard.

Now here's why its important.

We move A LOT!
When we first move into a place we deal with
big hurdles first, Beds, Dressers, Couches.

When we finally get around to hanging curtains,
well we've been hanging around for a while.

So to me things like hanging curtains and
adding finishing touches to the bedrooms displays
a mental shift.

Restlessness is gone.
We're really here for a while.

So even though it started out like nesting,
in the end I am making a commitment to this house
and this city by putting on the final touches!

(ok so it still sounds a little bit like nesting!)
