The magical day is finally here!!

Christmas Eve was so relaxing and Fun!
We ate and watched movies
and played games!

Christmas Day was full of fun too.

This year the kids got housecoats instead of pj's.
Best decision ever.

Hudson Live Nativity

So usually our kids put on impromptu live nativities
all throughout December.

This year was no different.
We convinced Ms. A's primary teachers to
let us come over and put it on for them.

We had a grand time, they were so patient
and the kids loved to play with the dog.

Who by the end was feeling awfully smothered.

Before we got into that though we were given
a wonderful Christmas story,
the Christmas Orange.
(and a fun chocolate treat to share later.)

We Begin with Joseph, Mary and an important angel!

Then two out of three wise men, (people) and a shepherd.

 And her flock hehe.

The End.

After the performance we had icecream floats or sundays,
with home made hot fudge sauce.

Soooo Yummy.

These three were getting a little stir cazy before we left.
But they sure love each other!

December Skating Allard

We have a great little outdoor ice rink close to our house
that we are happily taking advantage of!

These two love having a little extra help.
Although Ms. V does way better without!

December Market Place

Another December happening was Ms. A's class
was holding a Market Place.

She had an opportunity to create a product,
design a shop and do all the work from start to finish.

Kids earn School Dollars for performing certain
class tasks well, or consistently.

They get to spend them at market place held
four times a year by different classes.

I think it's a great way for them to learn about terms like,
profit, inflation, margins, and other math/economic
terms that I wish I'd learned about in elementary school.

She was so determined to make it work.

We talked to her about Makers we know personally,
and the hard work they put in to their businesses.

Especially when we were up really late dipping
over 100 large rice crispy squares in chocolate.

Our maker friends often have family or work
commitments all day and make/create their
small business late into the night.

It was a success.

Thankfully Ms. E was happy to help.
(Any excuse to stay up!)

December Sledding

Sledding close to our house is pretty easy.
We're blessed to be able to walk three blocks to the hill.

It makes it easy to just go for an hour.

December sledding after dad gets home
means it's in the dark.

Thankfully when it's really dark Dad has
some portable heat to sit around.

Saturday sledding is much easier but there's
still not that much light in the day.
