Playing at McLean Creek

 We shoveled some snow off the creek today to skate as a family.

Work, Work, Work!

Pretty soon after all that work the kids were having a blast skating.

Somehow Shane always decides he needs to clear the entire creek.

Ms. V decided this squirrel was going to be her best friend.

Ms. A and I were fire tenders for the most part.

Eventually ms. c came to join us.

The Gray Jays were getting aggressive and so were the chickadees.

Ms. A decided she would try to hand feed them.

Our friendly squirrel was munching on peanuts 

that the couple who used our spot before us spread 

liberally all over.

Turns out they would rather skate some 

more than they would tidy.

We pretty much had the place to ourselves and loved it!!

 Shane's been tryin to take the kids more one on one.

Or in this case two on one.

Ms. V loves to skate just with him.

And having Ms. C with them means 

she sometimes still gets a ride in the sled.

Especially Wild Skating at McLean Creek!

Ms. C really spends most of the time crawling around 

thorough the snow with her skates on.

Canmore Skiing Trip (Part 1)

For Christmas Grandma Cathy gave our family an experience!

She helped us pay for a day of cross country skiing

at the Canmore Nordic Center.

We had a fantastic long weekend and 

did way more than just ski.

We headed out after work on Wednesday.

We stayed at Basecamp Resorts in Canmore.

They also have resorts in Revelstoke, and Golden!

 

The Canadiana theme throughout the lodge was fun.

 This girl was SUPER tired by the time we arrived.

Here's a sneak peak at the disaster our van 

became during the dark car ride.

Makes me tired just looking at it.  

End Day One.

Day Two!!!

After a super relaxing morning including cartoons we

headed to Banff to be touristy.

 

These two goofy chums spent the whole ride 

talking about farts and butts. 

They were pretty good at including Ms. V.

Then it was lunchtime!

 Time to eat candy.

 Yummy buns.

And play with toys.

Shane took Ms. V and Ms. A out to skate 

on the town square rink.

 

It was a great day and the ice was 

sooooooo smooooooth!

 

True to form when Ms. V got tired she just wanted 

to climb and dig in the snow piles. 

All the tired feet.

 

Almost done.

 

After skating we headed up the mountain 

to the hot springs!
