The aspiring Science mom! (aka trying to grow rock candy!)

So the girls love experiments and I encourage them, 

Spring break was just one example.  

I had always wanted to try making rock candy 

and so after hearing, I'm BORED one to many times 

I gathered my science brain and all my research 

and we got to work making rock candy!

Start with a little prep! 

LOTS of stirring and lots of sugar!

Before long you have a Rainbow of 

Rock Candy Solutions! 

I'll Post results!!

 This girl wanted to be a bit too much of a helper.

 

But Mac N Cheese solves most problems!

At least for her it does!!

Flower Garden

The girls planted two bins of flower seeds 

this spring during spring break.

They turned out to flower Beautifully!

It was so much fun to have these colorful bins full 

of flowers all over the deck!!  

We had to wait longer but they loved 

to take care of them!!

They definitely thought it was worth the wait!

And Ms. V loves to smell them every day!

Shanes Birthday!

We decided to go for a rainy walk on Shanes Birthday!

 

 

This was such a fun kid led activity!

We walked until at least two of them were saying Lets go get dry!!

Then they found these Puddles and it was fun all over again!

We warmed up in the car and ate his birthday cupcakes and 

then came home and cuddled up with blankets.

 

What a Happy Birthday we celebrated!!

Mahogany Beach Playdate!

Sometimes you just need a break!

This was a great escape for me!

We went to visit great friends and spent 

4 hours or so at the beach!

All the kids had a great time, and we 

enjoyed a break from the normal!

I was so glad that this amazing mom invited me to visit 

them anytime I needed  a break this summer.

Some Mom's you just connect with and are 

IMMEDIATELY grateful for their 

presence in your little life!

This mom is one I am so grateful to know, 

even from all the way across the city.

We talked about amazing things and had 

water fights with our kids and encouraged 

each other to just be ourselves.

Seriously It's been way too long since 

I played with this mom!! 

Zoo Visit with Friends!

Ok so this zoo visit was particularly fun!

Probably mostly because of the company!!

Remember my awesome friend who just had a baby?

She decided to come visit with her equally 

awesome family and go to the zoo with us! 

We had such a great time! 

The kids kinda fed off each others happiness, 

and we explored areas of the zoo we hadn't been to yet.

Everyone had such a great time and I was amazed by 

the patients and love that abounds in my great friends family.

(hello I'm always amazed by this friend and her family.

She's always inspiring me!)

Ward Campout

This was a fun rainy crazy time and we were sure glad that we came!!

During a dry spell the kids all made marshmallow shooters.

They loved experimenting, decorating and 

even chasing each other around! 

 

 

There was lots of cozy campfire time to be had, as well as 

games and movies and all kinds of fun!! 

It was almost easy to forget all about the thunder, 

lightning and loud rain.

That gave us good excuses to be hiding out in our 

sleeping bags telling funny stories and watching 

puddles gather on the tent fly.
