So first thing in the morning Mr. T got his Booster!
He was SUPER excited to be big enough to sit in the back
with the girls.
So we all buckled in and set out for a hike.
It was pretty frosty when we hit the trail.
The kids didn't need too much encouragement to hit the trail.
The kids were eager to explore the terrain, sometimes
to the point of parental annoyance.
I was reminded of when my grandma talked about Grandpa
getting wood for winter. She would say
"If he could he would bring the whole forest home.
It's always ooooh this one is the last,
until he sees one more he wants to take."
These kids decided that today was the day to pick up every rock
and touch every blade of grass.
Definitely a lesson in patients for us as parents!
We remarked more than once how Mr. T
was the one pushing us on.
Super Unusual!
(He usually needs the most encouragement!)
we ended up setting a time limit till lunch and
the kids all agreed after lunch we would
turn around and head back to the car.
That is until Ms. A decided to convince everyone
that they needed to go just a bit farther!!
(So convincing!)
We didn't get to much farther before the trail was iced over.
Because we weren't quite equipped to tackle it
we decided finally to turn back!
(for real this time)
On the way out we sloshed and squished
through the mud and the puddles.
Most of them had been iced over earlier
when we first came through.
Now they were all soft and squishy and muddy!
The Kids loved getting their boots good and dirty!
Once we got home everyone cleaned up and got into cozy pj's.
Then it was time for presents!
And Cupcakes!!!
What a great day!
