Lake Louise Ice Magic Festival

OK so this was SO MUCH FUN!

Shane's mom came to visit and thought we should
trek out to Lake Louise for the Ice Carving Festival!

Wow it was amazing.

We weren't in a rush in the morning, and even though
we took our time loading up we still left before 9am.

We stopped for the potty in Banff and took a little stroll
to find some fun snow art!

We got to the town site before noon and the
parking was already crazy!

We strapped the kids on headed into the town site.
There was a shuttle from the town site up to the chateau.

I Highly recommend it, it took FOREVER just to get on the bus,
but it was way better than trekking the kids 1/2 a km up
the mountain while cars and buses pass us.

Despite the wait the kids were excellent, made friends
along the way, slid down the snow banks, and we took our time
making friends of our own and enjoying people watching.

We bought tickets to see the sculptures up close,
which were good all day and we passed them on to someone
in the ticket line when we were done.

There was tons to do without tickets though!
Lots of kid and family activities inside the Chateau crafts,
learning tables, and info booths, etc.

Even this girl enjoyed her time free from the backpack!

There was lots going on outside too, skating
and sledding on the lake.

Photo's with Jack frost and the Ice Queen were also available.

After all the excitement we enjoyed a rather quit drive home.

This adventure was one of the kids favorite!

We had so much fun and it is on
the list of adventures to try again!

Here's a link to the event!

Ms. A turns 7!!

Holy Cow does this girl know how to party!!

This year Ms. A wanted to have a story book party
where everyone could come as a favorite book character.
This was soooo much fun and the girls
were so good to each other.
No mean girls around here!

First off all the girls created their own book covers
while everyone was arriving.

Then they worked together to put on a silly puppet show,
a funny silly version of Goldilocks and The Three Bears.

Then there was food!
LOTS and LOTS of Food!

The cake was supposed to be a book with
bookworms all around.
Um, I think I'll be sticking to cupcakes
from now on!

Then the girls were super excited to give ms. A
her presents and I could see why!
What amazing loving friends!

They all shared the new toys and books and games.
What a fun time!

Barbies

New Play-dough!

Monster High and other fun dolls.

Books and stickers to look at too!

This year we decided to give ms. A an Experience for her birthday,
something that she could enjoy for a long time.

She loved finding out about a Pink Bow on loan from friends,
and a 10 punch card for the archery lane.

She had been asking for a target for Christmas,
to go with her suction cup arrows.

This put her OVER the MOON!!
Shane is excited to take her, I'm glad
we can support her in something
she is so interested in!
