january airplanes

Ok this was a ton of fun.
FHE was airplane building!

Seriously family time can be a
little outrageous over here!!
But this was great!

Eventually they of course all broke.

But that was part of the fun!

Maybe one of them will decide to become a pilot one day!

january sledding

We have a bunch of lucky kids!!

Their dad took them out sledding one Saturday
and I got to stay home with Ms. C and be toasty.

There was a ton of fun being had all around!!

Ms. E and Ms. A decided it was more fun to
write and draw in the fresh snow.

I know it's upside down but it says
"AVA RULES"

Silly Girls!

January hair revolution

Oh my the crying that goes on at this house over hair.

I figured with four girls I either need
to get my game together soon,
or just keep all their hair short
till high school.

Hahaha.

Definitely not happening.

SO I hit the internet and watched hours of video
about taking care of curly hair.

I have been learning a LOT, and here are the results!!

#1 No Shampoo.

 #2 LOTS of conditioner

#3 Only brush it when it's SUPER SOGGY WET

#4 She needs her own Wet Brush

Way less tears, and much healthier hair!

So our battle plan is a shower twice a week,
improved product choice,
(I could write an entire post about this alone!)
Silk/Satin Pillowcases in the future.
(hoping this will help ms. A too).

January Skating

January Skating adventures!

It's really cold and we're still getting used to our community
but we did find some skating.

We unfortunately didn't know we weren't
allowed on that particular ice.

After some discussion and a phone call we
ended up at a community outdoor rink
with some friends.

Unfortunately this girl did fall and hit her head.
She was not happy to be there anymore.

Ms. V decided to keep her company.
What a sweet sister.

january Ms A's birthday

Happy Birthday!
Second time around.

Right before we left some friends of our gave
us a huge bag of easy bake kits.

She assured me that Easy Bake Oven's
were always being resold for super cheap
on community buy and sell pages.

She was right.

Within the first week of being in the new house,
I found one and purchased it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MS. A!

She loved it and felt pretty special
cooking things all on her own!

Stop growing up PLEEEZE!

First Explore in Edmonton!

Happy New Year!!
Happy New City!!
Happy New Exploring!!
Happy Freezing Cold!!
Happy Footbridge!!
Happy Everything!!

So January surprised us by warming up to -10.
(yes that's warming up!)

We decided one Saturday to check out a local cross country ski area.

Um we didn't find it.
Joys of being in a new city.

We found the city downhill ski park . . . kinda fun!!
And the tube run looked great!!

In the sun it was actually quite warm!

Ms. C was pretty patient with being stuck
in a carrier the whole time.

Choose wisely my friend.

Ms. V had a few melt downs about not always being the leader.
That's life sweets!

A sure sign that Ms. A is done.
I call this move the annoying worm.

She was coaxed off the ground by a chance for selfies.
Seriously so tween already!

The littles wanted one more hill.

The big girls did NOT!

Ok time to head back down the trail.

We were all grateful for the mild day!

Hot chocolate by the fireplace
warmed us all up very nicely!
