Spring Break Part 2

So our Wednesday was interrupted by the announcement
of all public parks and playgrounds being closed.

Ahem, yeah Wednesday was outdoor day.

So New Plan, Shane who had been talking about buying
a trampoline for over two years went to buy a trampoline.
(shhh it's a secret and I didn't tell the kids!)

In the mean time I got the kids gathered up
and out the door for a winter walk.

First up pick up a friend and
a sweetheart of a girl.

#2 head down a pathway and find all the things
on our winter scavenger hunt list.

These poky dokys walked way behind
us most of the way!

Giggling and enjoying the sunshine.

At the end of our walk we found a nice sloped hill
that the kids trudged all through and slid down.

We were out of the house for over 2 hours.
It was glorious!

While we were gone.
The trampoline was happening at our house!

It wasn't quite set up when we got home but with my help
Shane got it up without too much trouble.

And Ms. C. gets first bounce of course!

Almost finished just need to put up the net.

Eventually he wrangled the girls into helping him.
They were pretty impatient to jump as well.

 VICTORY!

We have ZERO regret about this decision!

Thursday = Concert Day

One of the things that the kids had missed due to
school closure was the school spring concert.

So we put together a virtual one where everyone
could perform something special.
It was a hit.

We officially have no pictures, but we loved doing
it a ton and the girls are asking to do another at
the end of the school year.

And really they spent most of the day
on the new Trampoline!

Road Trip and July 1st! (part 3)

Sunday was more of a relaxing day,
and man did we need it!

We visited our ward in Calgary,
and they were having a potluck.
 Just our luck!

Then it was so nice and the kids were pretty cagey.
Truthfully we were as well.
So we went on a walk and found some new parks.

It was scorching so we found some shade
and a trampoline back at friends.

Such fun kiddo's.

Later that night it was time to pack up so we
could get an early start in the morning.

The kids were a little disappointed that there
would not be more slumber parties.

Don't let the sunshine fool you, it's close to ten p.m.
by the time we're all loaded.

The next day we were trying to make it to
Revelstoke in time for the parade!

May Hiking

The smoky weather wasn't going to keep us from being outdoors
while we were headed to Calgary already.

We played with friends the night before.
Board Games, and Trampolines.

We decided to take the kids to troll falls.
We had attempted this a long time ago,
it did not turn out as well as
this adventure did.

Picking up walking sticks along the way.

Exploring the Teepees made of poles.

Crossing the river over and over.

Some of us took the safer route.

The girls loved playing on this one.
(It was ridiculously stable.)

The big kids loved the falls.
The smaller ones just thought they were loud!
(They were right, it was loud!)

We went back down to the fork in the trail to try the upper falls.

First a test of water depth!
Even though the river was calm there, it was deep!

Another pole structure to explore.

Viewing the top of Troll Falls!

Some tricky sections.

A little hut dug in the hill.

Clearly some are having more fun than others.

Upper falls!!

Even this girl thought it was awesome!

And she found the snow her favorite!

This girl was a trooper, until she felt the cold snow.
Then it was all over.

We loved spotting chipmunks along the trail as well as flowers.

The girls thought it was super funny when I told them
these orchids were called lady slippers.

This was an excursion for the record books.
We even ran into some friends from Edmonton
on the way back down!

So glad we took the time to do this as a family.
