The Dress! (es)

ok so I got brave and decided to sew ms. v's blessing dress,

FROM THE TRAIN OF MY WEDDING GOWN!

ok breathe I promise it all worked out and we had a wonderful day.

Here are some pics of my process!

One happy ms. V

Of course the girls just had to try on my dress while it was out.

When the dress was done I made a rash decision
to make the girls each a dress.
(not from my wedding dress though!)

It stressed me out beyond what I thought it would
but they love them!

Mr. T's Blessing

So I am getting a little behind and only bound to get
more behind but this little man deserves
his own post about his blessing.

For anyone wondering what exactly this is, it is a special prayer
given over an infant by an authorized priesthood holder.
They are promised blessings, given warnings and given a name
to be recorded by the church etc.  I confess that I didn't have
too much interest in these blessings until my own children were born.

All three of them are abundantly blessed to have a
wonderful father to give them their blessings.
Maybe it is their fragile nature or
the important place that these little people have taken over
in your soul as they become part of your family.
It is indescribable to me the comfort that comes from Shane
being able to bless these little infants and give them blessings.

We were so happy to have an abundance of family come to church
to support us and celebrate this day.
We had a grand time afterwards crowded into our little 4plex,
huddling around the dinner table eating yummy supper.

Shane's mom offered to cook a turkey and it was all I could do to
keep her from cooking the entire meal for us!!
Seriously there were loads of adults who contributed
to the fabulous turkey dinner we ate.
Thank goodness for crock pot potatoes and electric roasters!!

Of course the day wasn't perfect, (I'll spare  you the details)
but everyone was trying to be helpful and
do their part on one seriously blustery day!
In the end I thought I held it together pretty well
and let most things slide off my back.
At least I think I did?!?!

Here's a few photo's of our fun day!

Before Church nice and clean!
