At dinner time I was very happy with myself.
I don't often blog about food but the house just smelt soooooo good!!
I have to share it and maybe you can imagine
what kind of heaven I have been in tonight!!
I type this laying aside a spoon with which I have been eating
cookies and cream ice cream directly from the carton!!
Yes you heard me - that's how satisfying dinner was!!
Here it is Fall must be in the air because it was chilly enough outside
and in the house to cook Meatloaf and Baked Potatoes
and while they finished cook the corn on the stove
AND NO HEAT EXHAUSTION!!
The meatloaf I confess was a new recipe
and I didn't know how it would turn out as it called for
cream of chicken soup and cubed cheese.
Turns out it was just right.
Shane is yet to come home so verdict is still out
but I thought it was great!!
Part of me was simply proud of myself
for cooking a good looking meal and
another part of me felt like
by being able to make dinner "like mom used to make"
maybe I am finally comming into my own at being a mom
(maybe??? Please??)
We also survived the first week of Shane being back at school
YAHOOO!!
Things went ok but I also am glad that things
SHOULD EVENTUALLY be slowing down at work
so that he can concentrate more on school!!
It is refreshing in a way that fall is here!!
Summer is so fun but also so fast and crazy with play
that it is kinda a relief that things are slowing down!!
