I confess, I have been a bit confused about turning 30!!
Who cares - I know - 30 is the new 20!
Confused because . . .
I just can't figure out how to feel about it!
Over the last month I have been thinking
about some of my life experiences.
Some of them, I am desperately trying to overcome
and some I have enjoyed remembering.
I found that I am a dabbler of sorts.
Believe me I know it doesn't sound good and it isn't meant to.
My criticism of myself is simply that I do a
WHOLE LOT of things a bit.
I do not have something that I feel I really excel at.
I have been talking with Shane about a few of them
and in process I started thinking about
what it means to EXCEL.
I tend to spurt as well - getting in a groove
with a project almost till it consumes me and then
I have problems following through!
So pulling up my socks after coming to this realization,
I began to read a bit about the word EXCEL.
I realized that I needed to decide what I thought it meant to excel.
I knew what it did not mean, I knew that I was not talking about
doing something with the desired outcome
being fame, or notoriety, or even money necessarily
what I found was this.
(and i love it!)
secret side note: I didn't understand the George Elliot quote
by itself until I had read it more than once.
Now that I have defined what it is to excel, the next step
is to move forward and set goals for change.
Stay Tuned!
