So I have to say this has been one of my favorite months so far for date night!!
I was a little unsure about the whole thing at first and
I'll preface some of the details to share why but it was
SO MUCH FUN!!
First thing I was unsure about was the timing -
Shane is super overloaded with school this summer
(at least he's feeling the pressure).
So a long and involved date I was not sure
he would be super happy about.
Second things I was unsure about was taking the kiddo's.
I know it totally seems like it negates the purpose of date night
to take the kiddo's with you.
But in my research I found a lovely blogger who advised that
some dates may just be more fun with the whole family and
not be too hesitant to involve everyone!
So here is the super master plan
Picnic Dinner
Go to the airport and see the planes.
(we planned ours around the local air show.
not one of the actual days but just before when
extra planes would be arriving for the full show.)
Dessert out
Put kiddo's to bed
Paper airplane competition
Watch Top Gun and
eat buttery popcorn!!
Seriously a super fun night and without further ado. . .
Picknick lunch - which we had at home
(girls were staving and daddy was already a bit late)
I was thoroughly happy when shane walked in and said -
mmm sandwiches look tasty!!
got the girls suited up to be outside for a while,
we didn't know exactly how long we would be out!
my favorite cheeser!!
We all hopped in and away we go!
When we got there there was only a few prominent planes there.
(apparently they were all coming in the morning? who knew?)
So the girls ran races up and down the fence line with dad!!
So loving his time with them!!
Ms. A loves to run and race!!

(ps. snow bobs are slurpee/slushy with soft ice cream inside)

Then after bedtime we chose our airplane from
some awesome layouts I found!!

After that we basically tidied up the house for the night and
settled in for the night as a boring married couple cuddling,
eating popcorn and watching Top Gun.
We totally enjoyed the night especially getting the girls involved for part.
