Science and Slime

PD Days mixed with Family Day means my kids are
home, bored and picking at each other.
It also means I stash candy and other great
science ingredients for extra activities.

Making Art with Skittles!

(excuse the naked baby she'll like clothes one day.)

Laying out designs on paper plates.

 Add water, slowly.

Watch your candy become art!

We also made glitter slime.

Because truthfully I desperately needed to redeem myself.
Last time we tried to make slime it was a total fail!!!!

This time things turned out pretty good.

Thank goodness for second chances.

July Potions

These kids love to make creative mess.

Thank goodness for this table and the sunshine.
I could sit back and listen with a giant smile.

All in the name of science and learning.

Spring Break!

Ok so the thought of having my kids home alllllll week
made me put my super mom hat on and
get some fun activities ready for them!

Trust me that doesn't mean we didn't spend plenty of time
hanging out in pj's watching cartoons!

I'll share at the end of the post what I actually
learned this week about having them home.

First up Ms. E wanted desperately to
make cupcakes for St. Patricks day.
Green Shamrock Cupcakes

After that a trip to the Library was definitely in order!!

As many books as they can handle, and new cartoons too.

Then a day full of mess!
Science and art all thrown into one,
and thrown all over the kitchen and the deck!!

 Galaxy Jars and Rain Clouds

Add A TON of fun paint and glitter and glue
and whatever else they could find.

It was sooooo much fun.

The next day we did Exploding potions!
(ms. E's favorite)

This ended up all over the deck and the stairs and
man I was glad we decided that this
should be an outside project!
SO MUCH GLITTER!

Amidst all the planning there was some great
weather that we also took advantage of
and played outside for a bit.

It didn't last long, it is march after all.

The last thing we did before back to school was host
Open Gym at our church.

We brought some games to play and
there was lots of balls to bounce and
running around and hide and seek.

They had a grand time playing with friends
and I got to visit with some moms
and share what we had done for break.

There is a courtesy wheel chair in the coat closet,
all the kids adored being pushed in it as well.

In the end what I learned was that I'm a Great Mom!

Even on the days that I needed to get things done
and no one was dressed until 1pm
and we spent the whole day inside.

These babies need me, not some other mom,
they need me.

I also learned that all my hard work
encouraging them to be friends,
Its working.

It made my heart happy that when boredom strikes
there's always siblings to come to the rescue!
