The same old Roller Coaster! AGAIN! (thankfully this one is shorter!)

Ok so Back blogging is sometimes awful and sometimes a blessing.

Life got busy and things got interesting in April.

Shane was called into his bosses office and given curtesy notice
that restructuring was about to occur and the likely hood of Shane
loosing his job was about 99.9999999%.
(last hired = first fired).

This was actually not a shock as the shop talk had been about
pending layoffs and speculation about when and who and why.

We were incredibly grateful for the advance notice.
(No layoffs were expected till the end of may ish).

Understandably April was filled with all kinds of job searching and
awesome limbo appropriate activities.
(We may become professional nomads at this rate!)

Amidst the unbalance in our life our charming daughters
were experiencing their own set of growing pains.
Aka fighting about everything including which bed
in their shared room they should sleep on.
(our solution - the previously posted bunk bed project.)

We were blessed with a few opportunities within the company
as well as others, we talked  about how far we might
need to move and where life might take us next.

I admit that i was not ready to move as far as Ontario.
I loved it but I'm definitely not ready for that kind of move.

Our life was filled with cover letters and phone calls and interviews.

Shane was incredibly blessed to be short listed to work on a project
within the company and started the interview process for a very lucrative position.
The only drawback was the position would be based out of Winnipeg Manitoba.
(smile and nod . . . . I know I did! A job is a job after all!)

Just before the last interview for this position he was
finally given new information.
They were creating a second position in Alberta!
Most likely in Calgary.

We were grateful and excited about the prospect of staying close.
After the final interview Shane was given some pretty clear indications
that he was the chosen candidate but we were on pins and needles for a
week until the official paper work was finally emailed and the contracts signed etc.

Then it hit us, his position began in just two weeks after signing the papers.
He would start work in Calgary the week after Ms. V's baby blessing.
(coincidence I think not!)

There were a million things going through my head like the logistics of
Shane traveling to and from Calgary and only being home on the weekend.
(with a brand new baby I was very grateful for the time he was able to be home.)

One of the things that Shane was able to negotiate was to have his
time off that he had already requested.
An entire week at the end of May.
Including my birthday and RECITAL WEEKEND!
(again coincidence I think not!)

We are feeling very blessed that this time the Rollercoaster was a short one.
Due to the last limbo fiasco we were also glad some of the things we learned,
and we were grateful for all the encouragement and advice that we were given
along the way!!

next up Cousin Fun!
