Banded Creek Connector Bench Hike

We took some initiative to plan our own hike this week.

We did part of the Alder trail in
Bragg Creek Provincial Park.

It was super fun, and the kids definitely needed
the fresh air and change of scenery.

Sticks were a big commodity on the walk.

The closer we got to the school, the more information we found.
We loved learning things about how the forest protects itself.

There was also a number of downed tree's that we explored.
one of them created a sod hut that fit most of the kids inside.

They also loved finding the trees with bums.
I mean who am I to argue with 7 kids?

More sticks.

Stopping to rest before heading back.

On the way back we found all kinds of
recycled bird feeders.
Like guitars, boots, and tires.

It was a really good day.
Glad we were closer to home.

August Road Trip Day 3&4

Sunday was a relaxing day, before heading into Cochrane to church.

That back seat turned out to be so comfortable.

We had amazing weather, which also meant mosquitos.
Thank goodness for our little tent.
Although it had an afinity to trap wasps under the fly.

Our relaxing day meant this girl wasn't as worn out,
she loved sitting with out with daddy
eating peanut M&M's.

The next morning we packed it all in and headed to
the park in Bragg Creek.

I'm a little sunburnt and ready for a shower.

I spent most of the day driving to Cardston to unload the trailer.
I wanted one more nights sleep before I went to get the kids.

Ms. C was great for the most part.

Especially for being strapped in a car seat for 3 hours
without any siblings to entertain her.

August Road Trip Day 2

August Long weekend got a lot better the next day.
This girl slept remarkably well even despite
the incline and the squishy tent.

I admit the next morning our campsite
was picturesque and quiet.

What a difference a nights sleep can make.

We biked back out to the van and trailer to get some breakfast.
Ms. C had a much better attitude about the ride this time.

There was plenty of fun to be had while we ate breakfast.

Then off we went to hike Powderface Ridge.
13 &1/2 KM

Half way up we decided to stop and eat our delicious sandwiches from,

They were super yummy and a great treat on the trail.
Ms. C munched on grapes the whole time.

The meadow was filled with flowers.

Ms. C was only sorta impressed with her
last hike in that backpack.

We can finally see the top.

Then Dad headed to West Bragg Creek to Do some biking.
Which ended up being the end of his bike.

We did some of our own exploring and splashing.

Best way to rest my feet after a hike, in the cold creek.

When Shane finished his ride he joined in the splashing.

We headed back into Bragg Creek after because
Shane's bike was malfunctioning after his ride.

We went out to a super cute restaurant in Bragg Creek.
The Italian Farmhouse Restruant and Bar.
(Happy Early Anniversary!)

The patio was delightful and the food was delicious.

We headed back to the tent after supper and
enjoyed reading in the quiet.

Turns out after all that the derailer on Shanes Bike was not fixable.
We walked into the tent that night, which caused
a bit of a stir among the dirt bikers.

Good Lads who wanted to be sure we weren't in any trouble.
