August Chickakoo Lake

Last stop on our stay-cation was to go on an explore.

Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area here we come!

Oh wait, first stop Stony Plain.

Shane wanted to visit a shop, but we were early.
So we drove till we found a park.

This little girl just wanted to take off!!

These two were riving to Grandma Websters,
for ice cream apparently.

Once we got to the lake we let the kids play for a bit
at the park there before deciding on a trail to take.

It was great.
The trails were marked really well, and even though
there were quite a few people there
it didn't crowd up the trails.

We sang some songs and identified some plants.
threw rocks in the lake, learned about the green
algae, and watched the ducks.

After our walk we had some lunch.

Ms. E loved that I had a new app on my phone,
that helped us identify plants.

She was running around finding all kinds of plants
asking me to take pictures.

Last bit of play before we headed home.

They filled out scavenger hunt pages on the way.

 What Great Kids!

August Fort Edmonton

Fort Edmonton was another fun day trip that
we took on our stay-cation.

The first thing we did was head over to the midway.

The kids cold have stayed here all day and never left.
We started with learning how to juggle.

Ms. A was determined to get it!

Then we tried stilts.

Their favorite two things were the carousel,

And the swinging chair rides.

Mr. T just barely didn't make the hight to ride alone.
He only rode the small one once, not cool enough.

Ms. V on the other hand really liked the small one.

Back and forth we went between the two/three rides.

Eventually we started down the boardwalk to the mechanic.

These girls loved their girls only ride.

Then off we went to explore some more.

Mini golf was a hit with the kids too.

After walking for a bit we decided
we were good for the day.

The kids and I hopped on the trolley
back to the midway.

eventually we pretty much had the thing to ourselfs.

One last carousel ride.

How did this girl get so big?

What a fun day!
